چکیده
Abstract In the DIMOSIC (DIfferent MOdels, Same Initial Conditions) project, forecasts from different global medium-range forecast models have been created based on same initial conditions. The dataset consists of 10-day deterministic seven and includes 122 dates spanning one calendar year. All are initialized ECMWF operational analyses to minimize differences due initialization. run at or near their respective resolutions explore similarities between models. main aims this study are: (1) evaluate skill how it depends model formulation, (2) assess systematic errors short lead times, (3) compare multi-model ensemble spread uncertainty schemes, (4) identify that generate similar solutions. Our results show all in capable producing high-quality given a analysis. But time we find large variety biases, both terms temperature precipitation. We able whose more each other than they those systems, use physics packages. However, spread, our also demonstrate sensitivities formulations substantial. therefore believe diversity design stems parallel development efforts modeling centers around world remains valuable for future progress numerical weather prediction community.

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Forecast skill of the tropical intraseasonal oscillation in the NCEP GFS dynamical extended range forecasts
This study examines the forecast performance of tropical intraseasonal oscillation (ISO) in recent dynamical extended range forecast (DERF) experiments conducted with the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) Global Forecasting System (GFS) model. The present study extends earlier work by comparing prediction skill of the northern winter ISO (Madden-Julian Oscillation) between th...

data envelopment analysis (dea) is a powerful tool for measuring relative efficiency of organizational units referred to as decision making units (dmus). in most cases dmus have network structures with internal linking activities. traditional dea models, however, consider dmus as black boxes with no regard to their linking activities and therefore do not provide decision makers with the reasons...
